Paddleboarding Adventure up the River Adur

  • 6 hours
  • 275 British pounds
  • Shoreham RNLI to the Kings head pub and return with tide

Service Description

Would you like to challenge yourself and improve your skills? On this tour we use the tides to take a trip up the River Adur. As it’s tidal, please be aware this is quite a demanding paddle and you'll need a decent level of fitness and some experience paddling to attempt it. The level of difficulty is rated moderate. Our adventure up the River Adur starts near the mouth of the estuary at Shoreham RNLI. We meet up at the car park there and setup followed by a short practise and safety session. Then we enter the water from the beach and paddle up river with the tide. At first the river starts wide and open, slowly narrowing into the reeds as you move further up. There are resplendent views across to Bramber Castle and the surrounding countryside. We go up as far as the Kings Head pub for a delicious traditional pub lunch. Then, after a short wait for the tide to change, we turn back downstream and paddle at our leisure back to the car park. Duration: 09:00-16:00 (Times will vary with tides) What’s included: - High quality blow up paddleboard or kayak and paddle for use for the day - Traditional pub lunch at the Anchor Inn - main and drink of choice - Minimal style life vest - Water is provided but we suggest you bring your own bottle. What you need to bring: - Swimming clothes - Wet weather gear - Dry bag for anything you wish to take (we have these if you don’t) - Any kind of wet shoe of gloves you think you may need. Barefoot is normal whilst paddling but some people prefer to use these for warmth and/or grip - Small day backpack - Water in camel backpack or water bottle
