West Highland Way Trail (96 miles)
Wild camp the West Highland Way (96 Miles)
Service Description
Join us wild camping through some of Scotland's finest landscapes. From wood to glen to fen over bens, we will trek our way from the beautiful town of Milngavie to Fort William over 5, 6 or 7 days. It doesn't matter how many days it takes us, only that you enjoy the process. From the magical woodlands that shroud Loch Lomond to the austere stark beauty of the highlands you will not be disappointed or will your eyes be sore of sight. This trail really is a feast for the soul. For those not familiar with the idea; Wild camping is simply pitching up somewhere suitable out of a direct path and enjoying the splendour of nature for the night. It's fully legal in Scotland in specified locations. We will take you to these places for you to enjoy. It is super important for us at Wilding Adventures to show maximum respect for our environment and that means we strictly follow the 'Leave no trace,' motto. It should be as if you were never there. There is a strong community amongst wild campers and we adhere to the code. The trail is only of moderate difficulty, its just a fair way. Many people underestimate how hard walking day on day with packs can be. So pack light! Under 12kg if possible. Ample food and drink can be found all along the route with many great cafe's and great local shops. On top of this we will all carry a few dehydrated food packs and ground coffee/ tea to breakfast in style and the occasional light meal in the evenings in the more remote locations. After a week on the trail living life as close to natures rhythms as you dare, you will not want to return to civilisation. It's so pure some find it hard to re-adjust back into to town life at first, the sounds of traffic and loud machinery is jarring after the serenity and simplicity you will have enjoyed. We advise to carry with you but switch off your phone and unplug throughout this process. Of course you will do as you will but the rewards to us, a week out of our stressful lives, are boundless. Notes: This trail is a physical and mental challenge. As such you are required as part of it to carry all your own gear. This includes your tent, sleeping mat/ bag, water, any food you want as extra and all your clothes etc. The only thing we carry for you is the cooking equipment and gas. We also have a small basic first aid kit bag and water pump filtration system for emergencies. Costs are per day (5-7days) -£95.00 pp - Bring a friend(+£45.00pp) -What you need to bring is sent in email
